It’s Spring

I don’t know about you but spring always means new beginnings to me.  After winter and cold temperatures, I find myself taking special joy in the signs of spring.  This week those signs have really become apparent.  Here in my neck of the world we have an abundance of these beautiful purple flowers.    Many of these beauties have found their home in my lawn.  My first view of them was “Oh those weeds are taking over my lawn.”  Then on the way to work this morning I saw them in a totally different way.  You see there is really great beauty in the lovely purple flowers.  I found this patch of beauty in the back yard of an abandoned house this morning.  If you look at the picture you might see a back yard full of weeds with a mud puddle in the middle of it or you might see a beautiful field of wild flowers with a river running through it.  You see beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  I choose to behold the beauty of wildflowers.  It signals the onset of spring and it is reminder that the Creator of the universe wants to show us beauty in His creation.

When you look at your life, what do you see.  Perhaps you see a yard full of weeds and a mud puddle that needs to a lot of work.  Perhaps you see the beauty that the Creator of the universe made.  I want to remind you of the passage of scripture from Luke 12:27-87

27 Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 28 And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you.

God has created us beautifully.  He sees us as the most valuable of all His creation.  While it is true that there may be some weeding that needs to be done in the garden that is our lives, the weeds never overtake the incredible beauty put there by the Creator.

So I encourage you to take some time today and look at your life through the eyes of our Creator and see the beauty that exists there.
