Today is Valentines day. So I think there is no better time to post this than today. Sunday was a pretty monumental day at the Zimmerman-Lumpkin house. Our daughter, Mariah spoke for the first time. She spoke to the Girl’s Club at the Elk City Community Church. Mariah has a passion to see girls know who they are in Christ and to see themselves the way God created them. She talked about the way guys, the media, and what they see in the mirror tells girls about themselves. This is a topic that all girls of all ages need to hear. So I ask you, what are you listening to? What does the mirror say to you? I encourage you to make sure that you are listening to and believing what God’s Word has to say about you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made! You are beautiful!
The other reason that Valentine’s Day is a great day is because today is 3 years since my oldest son, Mark has been free from his battle with addiction. The past 3 years have brought about great changes in his life and he is now living the life Christ paid for him to live.
As a mother I couldn’t be more proud of both of them. What a great Valentine’s gift I have been given. These are the gifts that are truly priceless.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you.
